OUTDOOR GATHERING SPACE

BASF Growing Home Initiative

The Springfield Agricultural Society was nominated for the BASF Growing Home Initiative in April 2026.

We were one of three finalists selected in Manitoba vying for a first place prize of $25,000, second place prize of $10,000 or third place prize of $5000.

We rallied our community for support through social media sharing and in-person awareness campaigns. It all paid off, because we came in second place, receiving $10,000 towards our Outdoor Gathering Space.

We raise our hands in gratitude to:

SHADE TREES ON THE AG GROUNDS

As the summer's get warmer and warmer, we have recognized a need for more shade trees on the Ag Grounds. We have received financial support from Pembina Co-op and the Northeast Red Watershed District to meet our goal of planting more shade-bearing trees.

We were successful applicants for the Pembina Co-op Sustainable Roots Grant. We will be holding a tree planting day over the next few weeks. We look forward to working with Pembina Co-op to make it a successful event.

As the summer's get warmer and warmer, we have recognized a need for more shade trees on the Ag Grounds.

We are excited to partner with the Northeast Red Watershed District (NRWD) to plant more shade bearing trees.
